Following lines depicts two different attitudes, two differing outcomes. Now, it is up to us to choose.

Raising an enemy

The feelings abundant, aloud
Fear rising, fright draws near
Anxiously, follows my hand
I push it further
The thoughts, if it can sustain
I clutch to him, fearing again
I see him move that corner
of the mouth; the upper lip curls
showing the sneer--to tell the rage
Waging a fight, I am looking at my foe

Raising a friend

The feelings abundant, aloud
Fear rising, fright draws near
Anxiously, follows my hand
I push it further
The thoughts: if it can sustain
I clutch to him, fearing again
I see him move that corner
of the mouth; from deep line emerges
A smile--it belies all rage
Again we talk, again we are friends
