Riding Blue and Orange

Rock along the tracks
precarious precipice
over a factory:
gossamer smoke
blossoms like silver flowers
from the stacks.

Dive into underground
dark swallows plastic snake
emerge with robotic whoosh and
synthetic chime.

Squawk of slow mechanics
squeaking mournful cry
soundtrack to the thump and bump
of grating gradual ascent
through concrete ribcage arches
leading from belly of the earth.

Stop-action figures form still life
on the right
impatients twice propelled at left
all tip faces to oval end of tunnel
a gasp of cobalt sky
breathless stepping up and up
into that open
blue blue eye.

obscure
Thank you, Claire! I worried that I was being too obscure, that no one would get my references, but YOU prove these fears groundless. Bless you; your generous words are sweet salve to my psyche.

Loved the images.. I especially like sounds included in poems/prose, as that is often overlooked. Thanks for sharing!
