Soldiers were grumbling about having to sit through another
dog-and-pony show,
As he passed and posed
-- just a photo opportunity
only for the obvious ...
The mess hall actually
erupted
secret service guys showed up
fully decorated for Thanksgiving tasked
with filling a few tables. Naturally
It was the most surreal moment
I took the opportunity to shake
I didn't really care about getting a picture
so I went back over to my seat

Its the sad facts about poltics that sometimes it really is just a photo shoot. However this was no Aircraft carrier landing. He risked his life. showing that a commander can feel the same with his troops and somewhat bring them joy. Although opnions are like buttholes everyone has one as a famous person once said.

I also see it akin to a photo shoot. Yes, he risked his life, but for what? And, the American people pay for it if he crashes? What about common sense?

It was a high profile photo shoot. Just exactly what did he prove? He landed the plane safely, but at the same time, he is the one sending our troops into battle. I am not saying I disagree or agree, but that's just the way it is.

Was his landing impressive? I thought so...but worth the cost when everything is taken into consideration? I don't know...

Will provide anyone interested with the original text from which I gleaned this cut-and-paste collage. My version (while containing not one original word) is very different, of course. Anyone who feels that this is sacrilegious, need not add a post. The original text was forwarded to me by someone who wanted to convince me of the sainthood of George W. Needless to say, they did not succeed, but I had fun with it.

Whoever thinks that Anybody is a saint is a complete idiot. Bush is not by far a saint however he has done some good things. I didn't see the Thanksgiving Suprise visit as much as a photo op the carrier was. He Did it because he saw it was right to do and saw it was neccary. if your one of the most visable men in the world. Every Act is a photo op. And will be seen as one instead of somehting that might be out of good intentions. And lets remeber there is more people behind the president that make decions.
