A plaintive cry, for sure. I would love to see your thought turned into a longer poem so that I could see behind it...it leaves me wanting details.

No context
It's certainly a good part of a whole, but flour without eggs and milk and other ingredients isn't going to make too good of a cake. It needs more context around it to create the feeling it's trying to get across.
