“The adolescent stage is a time of complete dependence upon others to create our identity and worldview.”- By Orson Scott Card. This being said lets look at the reality of this statement. What I found was this: children gladly accept the strangest stories because they lack the context and or the confidence to doubt or disagree. Have you ever told a child some strange or untruthful story and they doubt it but nonchalantly change their opinion if another believes it. In a sense, children are not so much gullible as lacking character and confidence, which they “borrow” from others.

nice start
This is a nice start to a good opinionative piece, however I was disappointed with the length and lack of depth. As i said, it is a promising beginning... perhaps you would consider expanding?

The quote is actually about adolescents, isn't it? Then why confine to children?
I would say that "adolescents" should be "mentally adolescents" and once you do that, the statement will apply to a great majority of the adults too!

Great work Bear, children think out of the box because they are not carrying the baggage of years of "conditioning" by the system maybe that is the reason that they are open to new unique and even absurd sounding stories and the rest of what you said in the context applies.

This is real suprising to me. I really didnt think i would get that many comments or that even a few people would read this measly story. Thanks for the comments, concerns and suggestions!
