Knights lament
and Maidens Mourn
nary was the Unicorn
who held their trance
in mystic veils
to obscure fate
and self sublime
Oh, how was the
ancient of old
that gather tales
as spider webs
to give the blind
some hopeful rest
and paths now worn
into spacial time
though stones were laid
along the way
to console forsaken souls
a little more, hence forth
to give some gentle
light while somber
children have
sleepless nights
perchance a rhyme
or stanza quotes
to each spirit that
can transpire
to lift its countenance
a little higher,
twain I thought to
bequeath myself
in riddles of contested lines,
that such tales
are for the young
and not deserving
forgotten chimes
