AUTHOR'S NOTES:

How would you feel if someone you loved was diagnosed with a fatal and incurable disease, and then had to watch them fade to nothing right in front of your eyes? Welcome to one of the worst scenarios anyone could ever be placed in. How do you cope with the loss of someone who has become a part of you? You tell me...

Enjoy the poetry: Jayson M. Carter

Youíre sick all the time
I canít stand looking at you
Canít get better for me
These feelings canít be subdued
Your eyes radiate pain
Do you wish it was over
Your suffering has stripped
The luck from my clovers

Thereís no chance that these tears are fake
No mistaking the way that I hate
Everything about the way
Every moment drags you farther away

Iíd give my heart away to you
If it could help you mend
And give my health to you
If you could just pretend
That thereís a way to make
Fate give us another chance
I canít live a life making
Me lose someone that doesnít deserve to be taken

You donít deserve
To be taken away from me

Would you kick - would you scream
If you had the strength left
Would you still be with me
If the pain werenít so obvious
Half the manís what I am
Better half lost as you fade
Beyond my reach Iím sorry
And Iím so afraid

Thereís no chance that these tears are fake
No mistaking the way that I hate
Everything about the way
Every moment drags you farther away

Iíd give my heart away to you
If it could help you mend
And give my health to you
If you could just pretend
That thereís a way to make
Fate give us another chance
I canít live a life making
Me lose someone that doesnít deserve to be taken

You donít deserve
To be taken away from me

Not enough time
Iím not ready to say goodbye
I shouldnít have to let go
Someone explain why
It had to be me
Why me - why me
Of all the pieces to survive I need
Why do you have to take her from me
