to my best friend, Gary Davies

They think you are just a bug
lost in one dirty puddle.

They don't remember
they are the heirs
of your blue memories.
they didn't see your dreams
knitted in your golden hair
not even your tears
reflecting stars and storms
They don't know you are feeding
with sun, and flowers, and waves
they never saw your heart
painted in rainbow's colors.

They forgot you
silent euglena
lost in one dirty puddle.

Eugenia - Apparently simple
Eugenia, shall I call you Ginnie? How about Nia? Anyway, this poem is quite touching. It is very rare that a person gets a tribute from someone, only a good poet friend could do it. Itís interesting that someone would write about you feeding with the sun, and the rest of Mother Nature; that should be such grand a thought by a friend. I imagine your friend Gary as someone freckled and golden-haired as you depicted him here; someone who is sensitive and yet warmhearted.
