Revenge is like the sweet saccharin
In a sugarfree sparkling soda.

At first there is a surge
Of sweetness to savour:
Bubbling and fizzing in your head.

But when drink is all gone,
The taste lingers and changes:
What was sweet becomes bitter;
A growing discomfort that you ever partook.

And yet with the knowlege
That to bring back the sweetness
All you need do
Is pour another glass.

Quite powerful Spud...not a pun in sight!
Very profound for one so young...I'm impressed!

soft drinks
Yes. Nice one spudley. You have achieved a nice bittersweetness with this one. It's soft, melancholy and soulful, quite deep in its clarity and texture. Less is more, and water is free. All round good taste.

Had me another diet coke
and some more material from you! Tight, still thinking about it, and rolling it around in my mind.

A belated thank you for all the comments on this. I'm touched.
This is a piece that means quite a lot to me for one reason and another, so I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
