The Way

I rose above the water
In a sea of flesh and bone
I stand among the crowds of people
Yet still I stand alone.

I walk along the path
Ever changing as I go
Never knowing the way
Following the circles as they flow.

Iron in their way of it
Never giving, nor decay
As I wander lost along
They keep me on my way.

Losing track of all that came
And all that will be
I find myself at the end
Facing only me.

But the mirror has a way
To tell the tale at hand
That when we see our fate
The mouse becomes a man.

Only time will answer
The ageless ridles of time
And only those who plague them
End up alone in their crime.

Ever reaching, wandering the way
Drudging through the vines
That saddle the winding of the way
Always looking to the future wearing blinds.

Even as I follow, walking in the way
I fall alone in the crowds
The things I thought mine
Now simply gone, save the shrouds.

So proudly we prevail
So sadly we endure
The pain of the way
Will end without a cure.

The timeless eternity
That waits beyond the way
Was only ours for a moment
Forever and a day.

excellent.
First thing I read today. The day looks to be on a good start. This is great! I'm going to sift through some of your other stuff now.

Beautiful.......
I am reading a lot of your poems right now, and I think your work is brilliant.
However, this one really takes my breath away.
