I don’t condone but can understand what drives some of us to violence
But these people man, they don’t need yr permission
And they’re running out of patience
What seemed like a fine idea at the time has somehow turned into America
And if Benjamin Franklin were alive right now
I don’t know whether he’d find us pathetic or hysterical

When the brick comes through the window man, you better hope you got some guns
‘cause you just might wanna shoot yrself when you see what we’ll become
When the brick comes through the window you better run

Oh say can you see by the dawn’s early light
Of the Southside Wal-Mart burning down
It’s those kids with the funny haircuts and they all got
Automatic weapons, standing on every corner of every town

It’s been a long, long time since the summer of love
And you might be surprised what yr capable of

When the brick............

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say. But mankind is capable of great evil. that seemed to be one of your points. The song well written, I'm guessing it would be a rap or hip-hop style. I'd just suggest that you try to be a bit clearer in terms of message. I find it really annoying when I can't figure out a song's meaning. But good job overall.

What seemed like a fine idea.....
Good line, Can you imagine what George Washington must be thinking ? Hey nobody gets it all,all of the time. I do however
know a few people who think they do, and
if they don't then it must be us right?
I don't always understand what people are trying to say, but other people do.I figure thats how it is with most of us. Nothing to be annoyed about.

Anyway, I read the newspaper, but had to quit watching the 10:00 news. To close to my bed time, I was having nightmares. All that crime, and violence, and all that talking about the war going on, people getting killed. Scareeeeee!
Murderers running loose, practically in our back yards. Not to mention that "Columbine" thing they were talking about for so long. We're not talking about getting a beatle hair cut here. ok?

I'd like to think people both young, and old are basically good, and some of us are.It just seems like more and more evil, and corruption is showing up in the good old US of A, and if "We the people", don't start standing together more often, that brick will be comming through our windows, and it won't be a pretty sight!

Great song!I'm sure my take on it isin't all you were trying to get across, but one thing I know for sure you never intended for it to be hip hop, or rap.I would really like to hear it put to music. I'm sure I would enjoy it. Keep up the good work!

Nice Job
I liked it a lot. I automatically found myself rapping it. The rythmn it lends itself to is interesting and a little syncopated.
