When we said goodbye
That last night in the barn
Did you think back then
It would be for so long?
Did any of us know
That it would be
Years and years
Not days and days?
After knowing each other
For so long and so well
Then suddenly stopping
Are you ready for what will come?
From the time we were kids
To now where we have kids
We have changed so much
But have we changed so little?
Time has passed us by
And left some of us in its wake
But we'll always be tied together
As much as we try to stay apart.

thanks
basically, the poem was inspired by a call i got last week about my 10 year high school reunion next summer. i'm not sure that the wording is all that great (a chronic problem of mine), but thanks for the comment all the same.

yep
A thought-provoking paen to high-school graduation.

And, hey, I've been to that barn -- we're all better off far away from it.
