In the end it all might be different,
than what we have ever guessed,
the things we take for granted,
looked down on as backwards and less.

we might be stronger as a planet,
than any nation ever was,
To do things never imagined,
or live things you and i dream of.

will our children and theirs be braver,
from their ideas of what is right,
or will we be searching forever,
asking dark questions in a dark night.

but no-one will tell us for certain,
we can only wonder and guess,
and try to live our lives daily,
so we can lay down And Rest...

But i wonder if we'd even know,
our home town if we saw it some day,
in a future we can't ever know,
with a culture still in sway?

or do they come back to marvel,
at how we could POSSIBLY live,
and stare at what they see,
and all we seem to give.

Maybe in the end it will be,
so simple we'll not ever guess,
at how they have such freedom,
and how they could be so blessed.

You have a deep side - Witchy was right - a very literary side. This was so wistful and questioning - this was a very brave new world sort of poem - trudging into the fture with just blind faith and hope but yet a wistful eye on the past. You got it, my friend!

yep
A reflective poem, one to be read and pondered, read and pondered again. It reminds me of leaving home for the last time.
