I am a blade of grass, I feel
The early morning mists
Surround me
The moisture becoming dewdrops that trickle
Down my body
I feel the ground that I am born from
And I may not have had an amazing life
But I know life
For I am a link
In the great chain
I live, and die
To feed those, who too
Will live and die
And those too
Will know life
And I feel better
For understanding my place
As I fade from my proud existence

Bertie the Blade of Grass died soon after recording this account, as a result of being consumed by a Mountain Goat. (02/07/03 - 05/07/03) R.I.P.

ha!
I liked this. While I don't think it nessicarily exhibits the form I like to get from poetry, I loved what you had to say. And the last two lines? You finish off your point and make the reader laugh. Good job. =D

Oh yeaaaah
This was excellent fun to read, AC. Perhaps a sequel, - Return of Bertie the Blade? Yech, too 'orrible to contemplate, when you consider the possible means by which he would come back.

the circle of
life...
I like the image of the lowly blade of grass, whose knowledge of it'splace in the circle made it so easy to surrender to the mountain goat!
Interstingly done :)
