The dust whirls across the street
stinging the face of the weary young mother
hanging out diapers while toddlers cling to her aching legs
she straightens her aching back and faces the swinging screen door as flies buzz lazily in and out
As despair grows.

Again?
This is the third time we've seen this poem, Witchy! My head hurts! Me not understand!

the third time
I apologize - the first time I submitted the poem it was rejected as adult content. I resubmitted it removing the woman's "with child" condition and then they published both poems - the one with " with child" and the one with the cabbage leaf version. So you're not the only confused person - I am too!
