Midnight
On the last day
Will the sun ever
Rise again?
Or will it sink
Off the edges of the world
And leave us
Without light
Without hope
Without life.
How can it rise
After all that has been?
Go sun.
Leave us to our dark holes
And let us be
With shadows where our souls
Should be.

wow... with solstice fast approaching, i wonder how you, in August, managed to so perfectly capture the feeling i get during the long dark of winter drone. lovely in its desolation.
