To Your Glory

Verse 1

I keep drinking mud and sand

Rather than the water You offer me

Instead of the crown that you hold out

I reach for weeds

You keep pulling me back when I cry to you

When Iíve drunk until Iím too dry

I cry for a change

Take this useless lump of clay

Mold my ways

Till they match Yours

I keep running from the path everyday

You bring me back in spite of everything

I want to change and live like You

Turn this mess of me from sin

To Your glory

Verse 2

Wash my soul

From the scum and filth

I donít want to stray again

You comfort me like a father

You take away my guilt and my shame

You sing to me

ĎSon you fell so far today

But I love you anyway.

I know youíre sorry.

I forgive you.

I love you.

So change my heart as only you can

Make me into the man

Youíve always planned for me to be

In Your hands my life is held

Iíd never amount to anything by myself

Make my life

To Your glory x3

Now, what was I saying...

To Your Glory
beautiful. you r a poet. but you'r wrong. in ur poem, the word father should rather read lover and friend. but i suppose someone else would rather read something else. u know something?yours maybe is the first real poetry since... say Sylvia ?

Good expressions in poetic form...dig deeper for more inspiration and creativity in and with God the Father, Elohim.

One thing
The song is about my relationship with God. Father is the proper discriptive word for what I'm trying to say. He is our Father after all.
