This wretched
cheek, squashed under the weight
of exasperation

This dried-up drivel
peeling off
stinking my sad cheek

The dire wind nettles my eyes

Long live my eyes
these oceans of flame
with which I consecrate you

O, Melancholy

Heart of my universe
lurking fearless beneath
the fiery surface

Heed this invocation
countenance my sacrifice
awaken in me 'til I am consumed

Mask of So Raw
Why is sorrow such a lovely word? Your haunting lines evoke sweet misery. As what you have told me, earlier, that you'd love to taste/feel/know what is beyond the bottom... for in the end you know the only way is going up.

O, Melancholy indeed! Till we are all consumed. How poignant!

Penumbra
Here's the explanation to your mysterious name, Penumbra. I checked all your writings today, they were posted last year; I liked them all and their shortness speaks a million. I was wondering whether you are a Filipino. Anyways, I hope that you'll post some more of your poetry.

Thank you.
