I blamed myself.
Thought it was all my fault.
Believed you when you said
I was the one who messed it up.
You told me I paved this road
Now I must walk it alone.
But thinking back
I remember you were there.
Sure my hands were dirty,
but yours were black with tar.
As the famous saying goes
it takes two to tango.
And I'm not blameless, neither are you.
And you can lie to yourself,
it might help you sleep.
But now I no longer believe
all the blame falls on me.
And I sleep soundly, without lying.
