Making music doesn’t always flow
Can’t pull the life that only knows how to grow slow
Let it come along, take the long way home
Let the way be the bridge to a life let go

_Can you hear this song?
Can you hear this song?
How right, how wrong
How now, how long
Can I sing this song?

On the waves of time when the voices sing
Moments only play through the instruments that the players bring
Synchronizing eyes and consenting smiles
Simplify the way the players seem to say the very same thing

_Can you … x2

_Can we pleasure through our differences, all preferences aside
To embrace the distinct tones and tempos of each of our lives
Will the winds all blow through us in time
with all the strings that strum our minds
And will our blessed fate yet orchestrate this anthem we've defined.

If you write my verse, I’ll arrange your melody
With the help of those who can then compose our greater symphony
Hold me as your instrument, improvise a way through me
To be a free composer of our destiny

_Can you ... x2

_Can we ...

_Can you ... x2
