caught in the glass
fabrication and reality
there is a me
stuck inbetween
always laughing
stuck inbetween
always crying

a crack in my mask
how long will it last
before everyone sees
the truth
the lies
the deceit
the endless acting

caught inbetween
there's no escaping
the reflection
the light
the dark
no escaping midnight
it always finds me

I wake screaming
crying for my dad
he's dead
I know that
but his name
escapes my lips
before I can stop it
and I'm slapped
by reality

I see his tomb
his name etched in stone
the day he was born
and the day he left
he died inbetween
day and night
awake and sleep

he lives in my dreams
and I find I'm afraid
to open my eyes
to face the truth
to face reality
to wake from this lie
I'm living
and he lies decaying
six feet under me
