pick up the pace
run...
fast...
don't fall behind
don't look back
fast...
fast...
feet made of feathers
escape...
let's get out of here
let's leave
leave it all behind
leave everything...

return now
but the town is not the same
I remember these streets
but I've forgotten your face
your smile
once so bright...
your love
so light...
days turn to nights
people fade to ghosts
and dreams...
and ruined photographs
drowned in liquor
and a pain sharp...
so sharp it cuts deep
deeper...
deeper...
choking on water
and tears
and days of yesteryear
a ripple in time...
in memory...
a house
a home
isn't home anymore
I don't belong...
a dark cloud comes
it's time to leave now
