The Art of Aging #2

The years fly by so quickly
Wasn’t it yesterday when I was young?
I don’t remember growing older
I still have songs left unsung
The bird of youth has flown away
(I never noticed him depart)
But lately I have missed his song
Yet… I still hear it in my heart

The bloom has left my cheek
My mirror tells me so
My steps are slower still
But I get where I want to go
I don’t dwell on Father Time
Or resign myself to fate
I want to sing my unsung songs
Before it’s mucb too late

Don’t live your life by the calendar
Waiting for death to arrive
Live each day to the fullest
Just happy to be alive!

Choose A Penciled Life
When marking up life's calendar
it's better to pencil in...
than to pencil out...

Friends of Pens
When you pen life in
there's no penciling out

Less Aptness
When I use a pen...
to ink life in...
I'm less apt to pencil out

Having Fun
The beauty of aging is that you are then certain that you are 'too old to die young ' so you may as well have fun! AND keep writing.... Just published my second book Ivor's Poetry and even though past my three sore and ten, like you I am still young enough to enjoy life fully. Thanks for reminding us....
