This is something that is important for everyone to know: bazillions of economists are predicting that the sky will fall, either this year or . . . er . . . soon.

Now, being economists, it stands to reason that they're full of shit, not to put too fine a point on it. At the top of the list of reasons why is that Economics is not a science. Like Psychology, it claims to be a science, and does make use of science and mathematics, but all such claims turn to poo when such factors as "investor confidence" come into play.

Economics is like Advertising. The bigger the budget, the more intensive the project, the further the head is inserted up the arse. It's all plausible-sounding junk science, and the proof is in the underlying reality, aka "where is the money?"

The money in question is currently in the hands of the 1%, where it can do no good in terms of the economy. The fix, which none of these documentarians mention, is to raise the bloody minimum wage back to where it's supposed to be (around $25 US per hour), and to put the corporate tax back up to where it should be- around 80+%.

Corporations are full of shit on 3 major claims: 1) We can't afford to pay more, 2) such high taxes would put us out of business, and 3) raising the minimum wage would put everyone out of business.

It is an indisputable fact that raising the minimum wage fuels the economy and generates profit for everyone. It doesn't put anyone out of business, corporations are lying when they say they can't afford it (because that was the tax rate prior to Reagan's gerrymandering of the economy), and corporations are currently gouging consumers at a hugely inflated rate. One has only to look at corporate profit margins to know that they're lying through their teeth.
