On a day such as this,
when the weather
makes my window panes sob,
their streaming tears,
a cancellation
of dry sandwiches
on a planned, meadow picnic.

I now need to look
for a pastime under
my wet, slate roof.
Search for a pen
and write with a mixture
of green copperas, blue galls,
logwood and sulphate of iron…

I think…I may write about...

a day such as this.

I like the ingredients
Reminds me of my old chemistry set, and of the old family farm, with the slate-roofed house.

Of course, there is always the weather, unless you live in Southern California.

Take care.
