title and category
A very cat-e-gory poem! . . . groan.

Sorry. I know. :-}

But the reason I bring it up is to point out that Lit.org does have a specific Haiku category for poetry like this. (it doesn't really make much difference, I suppose, but it helps to know what to expect, and it makes it more likely to be found by someone searching the site for Haikus)

I'm not really a Haiku fan myself, though it is growing on me. This one is just plain weird (and I mean that in a good way). A masochistic mouse and a puzzled cat... how odd. :-D

Score 7/10.

While I'm here, I'm also going to ask about the title. I notice you're giving most of your poems roman numerals instead of titles? Hmm... Not something I really go for. As with the category, a good title can draw the reader into your work before they've read a single line, but I'm really not sure that XIII has the same effect. Okay; shoot me down in flames, but I like a title. :-)

Don't Like Haiku
As a rule I detest haiku. This one however gives me hope. This was inspired man (I use that in the heterogenous sense).

Not only did it make me smile, somewhat sadistically I concede, but it also made me think a little.

It brought to mind Kafka's exceedingly short tale about the nature of the sirens' song.

Thank you for this.
