silver and gold halos hang from my neck
bright colors to cover the darkness
a nice glass mask hiding my identity
because if they don't see what I see each day
in every reflection then it's a success

and a child smiles and doesn't know why
and my heart is lifted by dimples and bright eyes
so I put my feet back on the pavement
I start walking away from that cliff
from that ledge where I almost took my life

now each movement is harder since I chose life
but I don't dare blame him or his innocence
so true and just and gold and green and blue

and I know this bridge holds no power over me
but it's all a lie I tell so he won't remember
that day when he saved my life

my nephew, I guess I'm living for him now
he's all I have and once he's gone
I know I'll disappear into time and space
leaving him behind with no good reason why

Bye, Bye, Bye,
