When darkest dark of dark descends
And consciousness and breathing ends,
With heavy heart I say goodbye
And turn my gaze to glimpse the sky
To greet your ghost; to beg, to plea
The swiftest of return to me.
Alas its gone, but still it seems
Your phantom always haunts my dreams.

With legs of lead I lead the way
But no one follows me today
“I’d follow you into the ground”
I’d say, but cannot make a sound.
Your being reduced to rule of thirds
My life reduced to endless words
My eyes pour out a river thick
As you float down the river Styx

And I call out upon deaf ears
Yet you cannot allay my fears.
Who can?! I seek with tear blind eyes
A visage of decay today
For this ought be better than naught.
For you, love, day and night I fought,
But all too soon I lost

becomes aware of itself...
