I was wandering
Through my life
When I came upon
The Christmas far
Though, I hadn't wandered
Very far.
Of, all the things
In my life,
That I tried to possess,
I could not find
True happiness.
And, though,
In my life,
I felt safe and warm,
I was also getting ready,
For the next storm.
I felt that
Something was missing in my heart,
And, no matter how hard I tried,
I had yet to look at
Pure joy,
Eye to eye.

Then, I remember that
Jesus Christ was born
On earth on Christmas day,
He was born for us to set
Us free to join Him in heaven
For eternity.
Though, I don't know
What that means...eternity.
I know that I am not real poor,
I am just weak.
It is so often
The easy way of life
Is what I seek.
And, so, I struggle,
Everyday, when things in my life,
Don't often go my way.
And, I know that
Jesus lived his life
Without much luxury.
He had no ipod,
No cable tv.
With some food
And the love of
Mary and Joesph,
And not much more.

Jesus was born
Only with the Christmas star,
Which He used to show us all
Just who we are.
Why, of all those things
That we may come to possess,
We often cannot find,
True happiness.
To show us that
We must all live
In our hearts
With hope and love,
Charity and faith,
To find the road
To Heaven's gate,
And when we get there,
It will be for us,
Christmas day,
I just hope that day
Isn't really far away.

Being forever with Jesus,

Forever Christmas day.
