I remember the 60s,
It was a time full of
Hope and ambition.
I remember it well
Because I was hopeful
And ambitious.

It was a time
Of free love
But, love is never free.
But, I was free to love
Any girl that I would want,
But, the trick was,
To have any girl want me.
And when this girl would
Want me she often would
Want me to pay her rent,
Wash her hair
And read her one of my rejected poems.

It was a time
Full of music and laughter.
A time to dream any dream.
Hope any hope.
Question authority.
I was full of music
And laughter.
I was full of love
And hope.
Like today.
And tomorrow.

And , hopefully,
The day after that!
