Being an Egyptologist, what I must do makes me very happy
I am to investigate Akhenatin, pharaoh of the 18th dynasty and father of King Tut, the man that tried to change ancient Egypt
A mortal man of flesh and blood, brave enough to take on the Gods, trying to change a decades old religion, in the end for this he would pay a very high fee.
Ancient Egyptian religion, had many Gods for you to respect and believe in
But this Pharaoh only had one God,known as the sun god, Atum, he even builds a new city for his God known as Armarna
Married to one of Egypt's most beautiful queens, Nefertiti, together they set forth on this quest, not knowing most of their subjects would think this was a sin
Here in this city really in the middle of no where, they would worship the God Atum, from the new capitol of Armana.
In their life together Akhenatin and Nefertiti never had a son, heir to the throne instead they have six daughters, but no heir to the throne
A minor wife named Kia gave birth to a son, the royal prince known as Tutankhamen, he would be raised in the new ways of his father
Tut took the throne at only nine, his first act was to unify Egypt by reinstating the old Gods, trying to settle the seeds his father had sewn
But the worship of one God, sound familiar? It does to me, could this have been the God we worship today?
Moses and the Hebrew people, they worshipped one God could there really be a connection here?
This will make you ponder and think, where did this idea originate, and it was so strong in time it would really take hold
Magic always a part of ancient Egyptian life, but now they were to worship the magic of one God and in this there was no fear
To worship one God, disregarding the others, you have to admit this was very bold.
Armana only now exists under the hot desert sand
The body of Akhentin has never been found, some think they have the mummy of Nefertiti, but it was disfaced, condemned to forever roam in limbo
If a spirit can't recognize their earthly remains, forever from the afterlife the spirit would be banned
Ahlentin, pharaoh, king, a man brave enough to challenge the Gods, adding a new page to history and her flow.
Akhenatin and Nefertiti, a couple that tried to change decades of history and religion
No matter how hard they tried, the old Gods still existed and made their self known
Atum, monotheism, a God, the only God of the sun
Akhenatin and Nefertiti, their legend, their very being has only grown.
