I was up early this morning washing some laundry. I’ve been going to the same laundromat for years. I’ve been going there so long that I have actually become friends with two of the washing machines - one of them is named Fred Washer, and the one right beside it is his wife, Ethel Washer. We were having some fun exchanging some idle laundromat gossip this morning. Fred said he was annoyed because he believed that the dryers had an attitude problem. “That’s right,” Ethel agreed. “The dryers think they are so hot.” I smiled, sat back, and shook my head slowly. The Washers have a wonderful sense of humor.

I chuckled, man. I really did. In an instant I was taken back to my apartment days. Those laundry mat hours were, at times, lonely. Come to think of it, those rascally dryers may have been gossiping about my stretchy shorts.
