To understand this you must know of the bond and love between you and your pet
They fill an empty space in your heart especially if you have dealt with the grim reaper many times
But when they cross over to the land of the dead, you are about as down as one can get
The friendship and companionship once shared goes as silent as a mime.

You no longer have that happy wagging tail or them being there just for you
When they are gone there is another hole in your heart
Them not being there makes one very sad and very blue
The pain there is no solace here when the grim reaper is why you must part.

Just like when you freshly cut flowers, the wound in your heart is also freshly cut
As time goes by it will get better, but you never forget, with memories as your only legacy
For a while you will hurt within your heart and deep within your gut
Death is inevitable for all, unfortunately this is the way it has to be.

But see for all life as we know it death is just another inevitable step
Two things we must do is to be born and unfortunately we have to die
To the grim reaper we all must pay this tremendous debt
Since the beginning of time this is how it must be.

When someone dies we truly love, the wound is deep and freshly cut
We all have different and unique ways to cope with death
Death just waiting on us with it's sword. just waiting to inflict the cut
Just like a vulture steaking out it's prey, always there waiting for you to take your last breath.

So you see the wound and pain inflicted, they are freshly cut
Taking so much time not to heal but to deal with the reality of the truth
In tine sooner or later we dig ourselves out of this unholy rut
Death, the end we know it's real because unfortunately we have the proof.
