Tell Me

I have traveled so far across this country of Greece to seek your guidance here in Delphi
Handmaiden of Apollo, I seek your divine prophecy, one to help me in a major decision
The Oracle here, please tell me truthfully as to what is it you see
Everyone seeks you out, respecting your findings to any under the sun.

Pythia, they call you, you have the gift of Apollo's sight
Giving up everything you knew, to your rightful destiny, on this I really respect you
We are the subjects of Apollo, so we turn to you, his mediator, to interpret what is right
We travel so very far, to stand before you and Apollo, to learn what Apollo thinks is the next clue.

Pyhia you are not just known in Greece, but you are known far and wide
People come from everywhere, to hear what you and Apollo have to say
You are so lucky, Pythia you are really Apollo's chosen bride
He choose you to speak his word and all that he sees without delay,

I must make a decision about my life, so if needed I would wait a hundred years to see what you have to say
One must be careful in interpretation, so we don't take the road to the left instead of the road to the right
Finally I stand before you, the great Pythia, as the priests of Apollo, to me they interpret what you say
You seem to be in some kind of trance, saying Apollo's word, you show no fright.

You sway back and forth saying things I do not understand
The priests tell me what Apollo says through you
Still swaying back and forth in a trance, toward Apollo, you hold up your hand
In total trance, beseeching Apollo, thanking him as through you his words continue to flow.

I have my answer now, I now know what the Gods want me to do
Thanks to you, Apollo's handmaiden, Pythia, the Oracle of Delphi
Seems my future is now set, I did not know what to do until I sought out you
Pythia always speaks the truth whether you live or whether you die
