On Turning Sixty.

There is something about turning 60 and beyond, that leads to the realization that we've completed (for some of us) almost 3/4 of our lives and for most of us, it is quite a jolt!

This is the time for summing up our accomplishments (or the lack of them)and a sense of loss for what might have been. On the other hand, It can be a kick in the butt for us to use the ensuing years to go for broke and damn the consequences and once again reach out for that elusive dream we once had...we've nothing to lose!

OR, come to the conclusion that the dreams of our youth were... and are...impractical in today's world at this stage of life, and really appreciate what is truly important.. It requires very little effort on our part, like appreciating the beauty of nature, great music, a child's laughter, a warm hug and really good friends. And oh yes..sharing .the precious gift of our artistic endeavors in the arts…Music, Poetry, Painting, etc., with others who do likewise.

LIVE in the moment…that is all that we have!

I remember when Sandra's name was behind that title...hell, I even recall when my own name was lucky enough to be found there on the pages of The Majestic. It's good to see you still here Bea. Perhaps, I'll try and stop by more often. I miss your clear and concise writing. It always brings a smile to my face.

Lovely Bea
Reading this made me what to reach through my mac and hug you, Bea. I feel strongly that I've come to know you well because of your artistic expressions. But, when I really stop and think about it, that is who we really are, now isn't it?!

I'm glad to be counted among the droves that have crossed your path. I'm happy to know you; and I refuse to believe that your days are counting down. Forget about it! You have so much more to share. You undoubtedly have so much more love to give.

Don't even THINK about leaving us...EVER.

Dave & Able.
Dave & Abel:

Actually, I'm 86 now...I wrote this for a friend who was soo depressed that she was almost a senior citizen! From MY vantage point...she's just a kid!!! lol

Thank you both for the lovely comments...and Abel...I have no plans to leave for quite some time...I plan to outlive anyone who ever bugged me...and since that's a long list...I'll be here for quite some time!!!
