The world is not the same we grew up in;
then, people had respect for each other.
We’re just fodder to the Corporation
today and a resource for Big-Brother.

In every detail, we see the devil.
We’re helpless since we don’t know what to do.
Pollution to the atomic level
by businesses that think they’re people too
is poisoning our food and air supply.
They frack our wells and tell us things are fine.
Their profits must be made though many die.
Safeguarding’s no concern to bottom line.

Such regime won’t lead us to an idyll.
In fact, our Congress seems suicidal.

Ain't It The Truth James!
You said it James, exactly as it is! As for congress, I've been railing against them for years...(see archives). But it's our...the people's....fault...we expound daily on how frustrated we are with them, but do nothing about it! Half of us don't even come out to vote on Election Day! Patriotism is a dirty word today, and money and coporations rule the day! Well done.

Amen to that
Thanks, Bea. It seems to me that when Congress functions it has little relevancy to most people. In dysfunctional times like these, it only hurts the people. DC is its own little world, and far too insular to the concerns of the nation at large. And talk about egos! In this case, the Koch-porate puppet-masters pulled the strings on our dipsomaniacal Speaker just in time, before a major boehner was committed.

perplexing
The whole concept of budgets as applied by the USA government is a messy recipe for disaster which needs to be addressed. Every time a deadline looms there is an opportunity for those firmly entrenched and totally unreasonable to jump on their soapbox. I am convinced they ardently believe in their agendas to the point of needing to be medicated. The idea that government workers can be sent packing while politicians keep getting paid is where the problem lies. If their pay packets were on the line I'm certain they'd be more 'rational'. I've often wondered why it takes so long to elect a president too. Other countries manage to call and hold elections in a few months without wasting masses of dollars on 'democracy'. Anyhow my friend, I saw this and knew it would be pithy. Thanks so much.
