You are the answer, I know that now
For which I had sought, for so long in vain
How I’d searched, since the light of grey dawn
On the highways of life, in its nooks and its
Among friends, among foes, among lovers and strangers
In the wisdom of the wise and the follies of fools
In the pleasures of sin and the agony of penance
In the riches of kings and the penury of the poor
In the sunrise of joy and the sunsets of sorrow
In the glory of success and the disgrace of defeat
In the bliss of a prayer and the malice of curses
In God and the sky,in the Devil and the sea
In darkness,in light,in despair, in hope
But nowhere I found, that which I sought
So hard was the search, that I couldn’t go on
I gave up my quest, forsook my heart
Life became a burden, that I couldn’t but bear
I took up my role in this meaningless farce
The smiles then I faked, and often the tears
But deep within me,the flame still burnt on
It knew you’d come, though I’d given up the quest
And now in your eyes that sparkle with love
And in your song that gives wings to my soul
I’ve found my friend, the meaning of life

This is good, it paints a nice picture. Not sure who the friend your referring to is, but that isn't a problem.
