I Slipped Away

I slipped away, the other day,
But before I did, I stopped to pray;
I asked the Lord to comfort you,
And see you all safely through.
I asked the Lord to wipe all your tears away,
And give you grace for today.
I prayed for my family as I've always done,
That you would come to know God's dear son.
And for all my kindred, saints and friends dear,
I just prayed that you all meet me up here.
So look up, my friends as you bid me "so long"
I finally made it to my brand new home.
I'm not in pain, no longer you see,
But this time, God came and just set my spirit free.
