Friends are Angels sent from God
In time of need to see us through
And in this Holy Season
I send my love to you
Thank you friends for being there
To help to see me through
The stumbling blocks of life
That I tried to muddle through

God never intended
That we go through life alone
Without caring friends to help us
As we face the bleak unknown
It’s the “little things” you did
Or words that you said
That I will always remember
They dance in my head

The car lift when I needed it
Or comforting words
When I was “down”
Your hugs when I was frightened
Amid fears that I would drown
Thank you all my Angels
I hope we never part
I pray that God may bless you…
I hold you close within my heart!

Angels
Good friends are hard to find and even harder to hold onto I've found out recently. So if you've some good ones you've got yourself something special.

Nice piece Bea, Your work always makes me smile.

Thanks Dave!
Other than family...friends are the jewels of life. It doesn't matter whether they are new or old...it's that instant connection that you make that separates them from merely "aquaintences." And you can always tell because they will be the ones to roll up their sleeves in time of need, witout you're having to ask!

But to have a great friend...you need to BE a great friend to others! I am lucky to have many more great friends than I do "aquaintences"!
I will be 85 next month and I STILL have friends from childhood (the ones who are left are dwindling down I fear.) But Grandma Bea will still be hanging round for quite a long time to delight my frinds and bother my enemies! lol

Doing or getting?
It's what we can do for one another rather than what we can get from one another as humans that is the really important thing in any society. Your poem reminded me of this.

Thanks for posting
