Every desire,
every question,
every inspired
is a moment not to be quenched
for frivolous instant gratification or
for the "microwave" version of
a real answer,
but rather
an opportunity to build
very important memories.

The food tastes much better
right before you
take the first bite.
And only
the first few bites
remind you of this.
And they truly
remind you of this
because as soon as you taste it,
the hunger becomes
a memory.

The hunger is the experience.

Without the fullness of hunger,
all of the biting,
the chewing and sucking,
the tongue with all of its taste buds
touching every texture
while you labor
long and lazy
over the idea of
finally swallowing,
all of this adventure
would be nothing more than
a senseless,
yet necessary,
mechanical procedure of pushing food
into your belly,,,

if there wasn't hunger.
