Who am I? Why am I running this race?
Barreling down life's highway, at a breakneck pace.
I wish I knew what all the rush was for.
Hustling and bustling; struggling to get more.
More than we need; more than we can ever use.
More that we can waste, destroy and abuse.
Is there true happiness in material things;
The lasting satisfaction that fulfillment brings?
Or is our hoarding lust just an illusion;
a clever distraction to bring us confusion?
To keep us from seeing who we really are,
wondrously made and sent from afar.
Children of the cosmos, spiraling 'round a star.
What could it be that sets us apart,
and makes us so dear to the Creator's heart?
Why does it love and protect us so much,
and wake us each morning with an angel's touch?
Perhaps it just wants to see
that same love emanate from you and me.
I think that is how it's supposed to be.
The only true way that we can be free,
and let unconditional love be our destiny
is to realize that we are one.
I am you, and you are me.
Mankind is one big entity.
I AM LOVE. and that is the key.
