World’s End

Were the World to ever end,
what final blow would nature send?
Would it invert into a hole,
or just explode from pole to pole?

Would it then be poetry
to see our bodies floating free?
With no more war, and all at peace,
as humankind finds its release.

With no more life of any kind,
no problems left to task our mind.
No place at all to call our home
with all eternity to roam.

No summer breeze upon face.
No struggle to maintain our race.
No reason to get off our bum
Now wouldn\'t that be really fun?

Ivor G Davies

The moment created this second, is a moment that's going to last.
It lives the full spectrum of time, the future, the present and past.

Reasons
Like an old country song from years ago, "There's really no reason to quit."

In this case, end of world would put a stop to a lot of nasty stuff for sure, but all the struggle and strife that we endure is what gives reason to carry on, to live, and if we (collectively) have good intensions, the reasons to try to make someone else's life a little better.

I just pat my dogs on their heads, scratch their ears and tell them how good they are. That seems to work for me. When world ends I'll know it about a week in advance because my dogs will let me know.

Worls's End?

Somehow your comments remind me of the alcoholics prayer!

God, Give us the grace to accept with serenity
the things that cannot be changed,
Courage to change the things which should be changed,
And the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other.

Yes, been there..done that
but that's another story!

Thanks for the comments,

Judy,

My apologise for not being around for ages. No excuses, but this retirement business gives me less time now than I ever had when I was working!

After moving my son's house twice in the last few weeks we are now moving ourselves next Saturday so things are a bit hectic at the moment.

I will get back as soon as I am able but in the meantime a lot of my work thay has not been published in my book or on site can be found on on my own websites at either www.rhymingpoet.co.uk or www.ivordavies.co.uk

Thanks for the nudge to start writing again I am sure I will once we are settled in our new home.....
