The Book Store in Lompoc (in front of The Movies, movie-house) is holding a book signing from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, October 14th for James Ph. Kotsybar, local President of Poetry.

Kotsybar will offer insights as to what it means to be a poet in today’s cultural climate, as well as explaining many of the scientific discoveries of our new millennium, such as the discovery of the God particle.

Author of twelve previously published works, he will debut two, new, fully- illustrated volumes (“Until Something Moves” and “Dark Scrutiny”) and offer a spoken word recording of his poetry set to original music – free with the purchase of his two new books.

Disappointed with the role taken by recent Poets Laureate, both regional and national, he assumed the mantle of President of Poetry because “President is a more American title and implies more of a popular consensus than an authoritarian appointment. A president doesn’t rest on laurels; a president campaigns.”

He has guested more than a dozen times on KCSB 91.9 FM, and was featured on KDB 93.7 FM’s tribute to poetry month. He produced a series of green screen poetry videos for Santa Barbara’s public access television, and was featured on Lompoc’s TAP TV program, “We The People.”
For more information contact Leslie Sevier at The Book Store 735-9729 or visit at 1137 North “H” Street, Suite Q, to purchase advance copies or previous chapbooks by the author.
