Oh Maniac Moon sing me a song.
I long for a nightingale serenade
in the shade of Gardenia everglades.
Sipping peppermint tea as stardust
settles on fragments of lace
in her tombstone garden.
Magnolia sends smiley faces
from her schooner on the ocean.

smiley faces
I get the image, but the words chosen broke the mood you had created. For me, smiley faces seemed like stepping out of character or time with the rest of this peace/piece.

yo popeye ..
Absolutely! Magnolia couldn't cope with all those melancholy vibes so she did what she does best. Send smiley faces. You must know people like that. I do. I'm so pleased you felt the mood and was broken out of your reverie. Much thanks!

hail comrade
Gordon! How are you? Nice to have you drop in. I would class this as a bit of a stream poetry moment which turned out good enough for me to keep. It's always a surprise where my mind goes when I'm presented with a collection of words. Love the exercise of creating something out of words somebody else has selected. Reminds me of the write-off here at LitOrg way back when. Take care.

Hey Gordon...good to see you back here again!!!!

The taxi busiess must be great for you now with the olympics going on...or are you retired now?

You must have quite a stack of poems you've written since the last time you were here...would love to see some of them!
