Our reading fee is steep; before you pay,
find out what it is we want you to say.
Open to submissions of any form,
so long as it’s contemporary norm.
We place no limit on the length you send,
but be aware short verse is now the trend.
To read new work, we’ve set two weeks aside
make sure it’s postmarked then and please provide
a business envelope (stamped, self-addressed)
for our reply. Your work won’t be assessed.
We see too much for personal reply.
You should receive our form that says, “nice try”
about six months later and please don’t call
until months after that, or not at all.
All submissions will be recycled here,
so you had better save a copy, Dear.

Money Talks

It always comes down to money.....

Either some one sees the opportunism to make money out of what you have done and propels you in that direction

Or

You have so much money that you can DIY and flood the market

It's a case of little fish in a big pond otherwise

From the little fish (for now)
Thank you Bea and Eric. I hope you'll follow my follow-up -- How Teachers Should Teach Poetry Today -- with fcomment as well.

ROTFLMFAO!
You know what? I've only twice paid for these 'privileges' which proved to me both times I wasn't what they were looking for. I know I'm a good poet and don't give a damn if I don't measure up to the 'standards' set by those who aren't comfortable enough with my style. I just stopped paying to be rejected cause it's so damn frustrating. I'm just not enough of a masochist.

*do you know how many tries it took for me to spell masochist? I stubbornly refused to look it up!*
