life with a new nose
well ... no .. I didn't get a nose job or anything that dramatic .. but .. this no smoking thingie adds a new depth of dimension to after ablutions applications .. made me think about the marketing ideas of those who name such products. Like .. why is Moroccan hair oil enticing .. why do Cypress limes sound better than ... Florida ones? The flair of the exotic .. perhaps?

Anyhow .. thanks so much for the comments on where my mind was at yesterday ....

day 49 today ... or maybe it's 50? Can't remember without checking the calendar which is a good thing.

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, my dear friend... 49 it is, and so it shall remain in perpetuity!!!

Birthday Blues

We’ve reached that point in life
When birthdays should be banned
There’s nothing “happy” about it
It’s a plot that nature planned

I hate those cheery funny cards
With a million candles on the cake
As for that surprise party
It should really be a wake!

There should be cries of misery
And wailing should abound
For another year has been lost
And will never again be found

So forget the party hats
Ignore the date instead
Pretend it’s just another day
And spend the day in bed!

That explains a lot ...
You're so young! I'd been assuming you were as mature as your writing, and I didn't realize you were just barely approaching middle-aged. Happy Birthday!

yoo hoo @ BEA!
noooo ... not my birthday! it's DAY 50 without smoking! which is why everything smells so much more ... ALIVE!

sidebar to Popeye .... I'm 61 as of October 30th which was last month and the first in many a year which there was no bluish haze halo.

I thought it was your heart on fire
About time you quit smoking.
Now you can smell the orchids.

More reason to celebrate, Pen!!
Well...a BELATED Happy Birthday...marked it on my calendar for next year!!

By the far as I'm'll be 49 forever! As for your success in quitting smoking...that's MORE cause for celebration. AA has the buddy system...when you feel like drinking, you call a friend...soo...instead of lighting can call me you can see...early morning is my best chance at catching my muse...I go to bed when she decides to call it a day!
