As I read a former classmate's obituary today
I thought back on when and how I knew him
And although it has been over 20 years
A smile crept to my face at the memories

And as whenever I read about a death
Of someone who is my age
I think of my life
And of my effect on those I once knew

If I were to die unexpectedly
Would there be anyone
Who, upon reading my obituary,
Would smile or shed a tear?
