I heard about this quite by accident as I was in the middle of doing something else.

What Canadian doesn't have a TRUE WINTER story? As far as I'm concerned we have such a intimate relationship with the season that there's no need to make something up. I know that I've been dusting off my collective memories trying to choose which one to select.

Are you Canadian? Do you feel like you've experienced a really truly genuine Canadian winter?

You've got until November 20th to enter this contest. Prize is $1,000 and if I win I'll donate it to my local food bank.

I thought this had an age restriction [for the younger crowd] but I can't seem to find one in the rules & regulations.

Thanks Pen for letting me know about this contest! Good luck and you may be feeding a lot of people!

I saw there's a Canada Writes non fiction contest in 21 days? Do they have something monthly?

yoo hoo .. Lucie!
I know you've got an ice storm story that would be a perfect fit.

@ Sandra
I think Canada Writes frequently has contests .. perhaps it was the last one that was open only to youth. Being a CBC fan I hear about these things quite often. This will be my first entry and it's because of the topic. Sort of like David's flash challenge about wolves.
