Pulled it squeezed it couldn’t do more
cut it off time and again
Once or twice it fell onto the floor
it still had to be done all the same
Squinted and peered over my nose
looked at it in all sorts of light
So simple a thing shouldn’t fool me
I was trying with all of my might
Once or twice I thought I had won
but then I would feel such a twit
Back to the start and over again
the next time I might just do it

If you listen to me long enough I can lower your IQ

I came into this world with nothing,
through careful management I've got most of it left.

could be almost anything
I go through something like this almost once a week .... depending on the weather. Things never were this meddlesome last year ... or maybe they were and I had more patience? Maybe this is the price of being .. what was that word Francisco used ... geriatric ...
Tell me Eric .. you're older than me .. do you feel geriatric? Do you have a passel of pills you're forced to swallow and now have one of those calendar pill boxes so you don't get confused? Do you order a bunch of stuff from the old farts catalogue that all of a sudden adopted your address? When you see your feet do you remember they're yours or want to cut them off at the pass?

Pen I cant tell a lie the only time I really felt oldish was when I was thirty something and had left the twenties behind..... Since then it has never bothered me too much.

By the 1980s I had already been everywhere and done/achieved pretty much everything that I had hoped to plan for.... Good Career Nice House, Wife, Kids were in private schools..... I had rocketed through the ranks and was a Warrant Officer....Nothing big had gone wrong Mam and Dad were alive, well and living in my new Bungalow...I was head of a department at Princess Marina College “Practical Vehicle Workshops and Trade Testing”…… I thought this must be as good as it gets. Am I old..or what
Thankfully I was wrong…. I hadn’t seen half of life and was still “Wet behind the Ears” I had much more fun in front of me than I ever imagined.
Of course along with any success you have to be ready for the disasters, people close to me would get old or ill and die, I would make decisions that would throw caution and money to the wind. But I had earned the right to be fucked about by life…..It was all my own doing. You may kick and struggle as hard as you like but you still get older day by day and to be frank about it there is often nothing (or very little) you can do to change the general ups and downs that comes with living.
Everyone has the same beginning and the same end….you is born and later you die, The best you can hope for is to enjoy most of the bits in between…… I do
More specific answers.
I have always been fit…… even now I think nothing of running up hills or cycling 60-70 Kms on a regular basis…… four of five times a week if it’s sunny… my blood pressure is low
I do have a tablet box with days of the week on it…… The doctor said my cholesterol was a bit high and recommended some non-prescription stuff Red Yeast Rice and Flush free Niacin which I took for a week or two after but that was last year….. I eventually gave up on my habit of drinking gallons of 2% Milk and moved onto skimmed (Milk free Milk) then gave up on that because it tasted like water. I only drink water if it is diluted with something.
Just had my annual medical last week and the follow up is on 1st Nov so I can smile till I get the results of all the blood and poo tests . I will celebrate when I go to Las Vegas tomorrow for a few days……. When I come back and (if) the doc tells me my days are numbered… I might start to feel old and get back on the pills
