Carla Christopher Featured at Midtown Cinema’s Reel Café, October 13.

The Almost Uptown Poetry Cartel hosts a poetry reading series at the Midtown Cinema‘s Reel Cafe, every Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Carla Christopher will be featured October 13.

Christopher, fourth Poet Laureate of York, began writing at age 10, studied creative writing at Columbia University and has been performing up and down the East Coast ever since. She has featured in New York City, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and the York area. Carla has won numerous awards, including citations from the National Poetry Society and the Pennsylvania Poetry Society and published the collection "Song" from Columbia University Press. She currently leads workshops at several local high schools and universities when not dispatching police for York County 911 and is busily editing her next collection, "Baby, Read Something To Me"


Christopher’s reading. at 8pm, will follow a 7pm open reading.
